Christina Haack was conceived in Anaheim, California. Her first job following school was working as an agent for real estate. This is where she met Tarek. The couple had great growth until 2008's market crash that saw many real-estate investors and homeowners who were flippers fail. Tarek El Moussa and Christina El Moussa nearly insolvent due to the stock market crash in 2008. Following their move from a home that was costing them $6,000 a year, to a new apartment that cost $700, they nearly lost everything. Both their business and economy as a whole slowly recovered. HGTV and Rise to Fame In 2011 Tarek sought out a partner to aid him in making an HGTV audition tape which showed him and Christina the process of flipping houses from start to finish. Pie Town Productions, a production company based located in New York City was the first to receive the tape. They fell in love with Tarek and Christina. The couple signed a deal with HGTV. Flip of Flop was launched in the month of April 2013. Between 2013 until 2017, the show ran 92 episodes in seven seasons. The show's characters, Christina and Tarek would buy properties, typically mid-income homes in Orange County, and would follow up with several months making improvements so that they could sell the house for an income. Tarek concentrates on construction and renovations, and Christina is in charge of designing. She makes sure the project is completed on time.
